OPAL Awards was the first program I owned after joining the OPAL Global Board as marketing officer. I ran it as program manager from 2022 through 2024, and was named an OPAL Star three years running during that stretch. The program recognizes the members and events that did the most to build OPAL’s communities each year: it started by naming a top 3 for both stars and events, then grew to a top 5 as the community itself grew, and I design the assets each cycle, from the winner poster to individual certificates for board members. In 2025, by then serving as OPAL Global Chair, I handed the program to the new Operations and Events Officers, so newer leaders could grow it the way I had.
